How We Work
This site is run by the Palestine Solidarity Project in order to connect the women’s embroidery co-op with the international market. In a time of increasing economic crisis in Palestine it is crucial that we garner international support for small economic self-sufficiency projects such as this one.
The work displayed is made by 120 women in 7 different villages in the Hebron District. It is also sold in a small storefront in Hebron’s Old City. The co-op’s shop is the only business run by women in Old Hebron.
We are just starting out so the website is not exactly Amazon.com but it gets the job done. Volunteers will be creating a more user-friendly website soon.
In the meantime, this is how you use this site:

A Note to Retailers:
We are hoping to establish some commercial accounts abroad. We are especially interested in working with other cooperatives, fair trade organizations, and organizations that support our goal of creating sustainable jobs for women in Palestine. The women can usually make specific products upon request with adequate notice. If you are a retailer and you are interested in carrying any of these products, please let us know how we can meet your needs.
